In harmony with the UNESCO and the directives of the CBSE, the International Mother Language Day (Matribhasha Diwas) 2020, themed LANGUAGES WITHOUT BORDERS to encourage linguistic and cultural richness was celebrated on February 21, 2020. The significance of the mother language was explicated, the Preamble of our Constitution was read in Tamil, and Poster Making & Essay Writing Competitions on the significance of the mother language were conducted.
In accordance with the directives of the CBSE and also to develop the habit of treating all the fellow students with respect and dignity, irrespective of gender or grade level, and to never intrude into others learning space, a pledge on ANTI-BULLYING was taken by the kids on February 17, 2020.
Grade 1 and 2 children went on a special train trip to Coonoor from Mettupalayam.
The students enjoyed the panoramic view of the places as the train chugs over the Nilgiri Mountain Railway stopping at various points.
The journey through the densely forested hills via precipitous slopes,precariously overhanging boulders and miss laden Rocky terrain with abundant waterfalls,presents stunning sceneries and is a photographer’s delight.
The unspoilt natural beauty of tropical fauna and Flora was a treat to their eyes. Here the Heritage and History walk hand in hand with the, Rail traveler.
They spend some quality time in SIM’S park at Coonoor and returned back with memories to cherish.

Educating students about the community helpers and the kind of roles they play in our daily lives, is highly important. Indeed,they remind us of how inter-connected we all are when we live in a community. With these objectives to be achieved ,community helper day was organized by the KG department. Teachers dressed up as community helpers & presented their views happily.
To celebrate and mark the significance of Indo-Russian relations, A Cultural Programme was organized. Dancers from Russia performed with a lot of zeal and vigour and enthralled the audience. Amazing and unknown facts about different dances and its culture were revealed by the Russian dancers. To bring a meaningful end to the programme, a traditional dance was performed by our students. This programme was a step-in strengthening Indo-Russian relation with cultural and educational exchanges.
A day with Astronaut! To make this a practical experience SSVM SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE KG Department designed an assembly for kindergarten kids where, a teacher dressed as a real life astronaut and oriented about life on space . The kids involved themselves into the program and started to amalgamate with the Astronaut, it truly turned out be an educatively fun filled day.
To commemorate the sovereignty, our kindergarteners participated in a fancy dress competition delivering monologues as national leaders, freedom fighters, unsung National Heroes, Lady Leaders of India, and Patriotic Poets. It was just not fun to be dressed up as leaders, but also some learning about very important people and the lessons given by them.
To enhance the learning of the thematic concept about transport and community helpers, we set up a car wash day for our Nursery learners. Children love being outdoors, running around and finding ways to play with water. They love to involved in activities that ‘help’ mum and dad – and washing the car is the perfect job for them. It was indeed a beautiful sight to see our tiny tots of Nursery have fun with learning!!
It was celebration of brown colour day in Kindergarten. Brown signifies the beauty and the importance of our Earth, the Motherland. The color brown associates with the seasons of fall and winter. Children came dressed up in a mixture of colorful shades of brown. They also carried brown coloured soft toys. It was a day of learning & fun for the tiny tots
SSVM School of Excellence in harmony with the Indians living across the globe celebrated the 71st Republic Day in the school premises. The tricolor was hoisted, significance of the Republic Day was explicated and the kids performed aesthetically various art forms showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India. The kids were advocated to ever remember the freedom fighters, revere all the brave and gallant soldiers who are the guardian angels of our frontiers, and be the change what they want to see to retain the glorious past of India
The harvest festival of Tamilnadu, Pongal was celebrated with traditional gait and pomp in the SSVM School of Excellence. Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Correspondent, graced the occasion and offered prayers to the Sun God. While addressing the kids she said that we should never forget our roots and kids need to transform themselves to be socially responsible citizens in future and must support agriculture and farmers in whatever way they we can. Later an array of cultural events depicting the rich culture and heritage of Tamilnadu was performed by the kids.
INSPIRING STUDENT LEADERS TO PROTECT THE PLANET
SSVM Institutions in association with Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex (CbeSSC) and the Planet Protector Academy, Canada conducted a workshop on INSPIRING STUDENT LEADERS TO PROTECT THE PLANET at the SSVM School of Excellence on November 28, 2019.
Ms Suguna Devi, Vice-President, CbeSSC welcomed the gathering, while Ms. Srisha Nitin, Director, SSVM Institutions introduced the speakers Ms. Vanessa LeBourdais and
Mr.Sion Lanini, Planet Protector Academy, Canada. Ms. Navamani, President, CbeSSC honored the speakers while Ms. Jayalatha, Treasurer, CbeSSC proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Dr Manimekalai Mohan, Managing Trustee, SSVM Institutions graced the occasion. The workshop was attended by a score of principals and teachers, in which Ms Julia, Swachh Bharat Ambassador also attended.

SSVM School of Excellence celebrated the GANITH JYOTHI (Ganith means MATH, Jyothi symbolizes DIWALI), to mark the culmination of the Math month and the Diwali Celebrations on Friday, October 25, 2019. With the CBSE advocating Integration of Art in the curriculum, the GANITH JYOTHI created a platform for the kids to correlate the various aspects of Math and Diwali. A logo depicting the Diya in a Venn diagram, and a Colourful Rangoli with a score of Mathematical Concepts and Patterns were show cased, among various other aesthetically demonstrated activities.
Colourful and funfilled fruit salad day was celebrated in Kindergarten to highlight the importance of eating fruits. Children brought varieties of fruits, along with their teacher they made fruit salad and sang the fruit rhyme with great zest and enthusiasm.The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, colour and texture of each fruit.Children relished their participation and understood the importance of eating fruits

Yoga is an ancient art that keeps your mind, body and soul in peace. On 21 June The 5th International Yoga Day was celebrated. Students practiced Asanas and were enlightened with the importance of practicing Yoga and meditation to harmonies oneself and to lead an enhanced Happy peaceful life.
“The greatest gift I ever had came from God… I call him dad” in support of this quote… The students of SSVM SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE Celebrated ” Father’s Day”in the campus. The students prepared cards for their real heroes made placards to cherish and value the role of father’s in their life.

Cultural Carnival – To understand & respect international culture and create global citizens, SSVM SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE Conducted a carnival on the theme – “Crafts around the world” the craft items of various countries like Africa, China, Europe, Netherlands and India was made by the students of grade one. The busy bees exhibited the craft items during the carnival as a great visual treat to spread Internationalism in school and public.
We are extremely glad to share that SSVM INSTITUTIONS received a special BID Quality Award in the Gold Category on 14th of April, 2019 at Geneva, Switzerland. The Managing Trustee and Directors received the award and marked the most proud moment for SSVM community.
